Aligned Telecom Solutions is a growing Telecommunications contracting company that builds, upgrades and maintains Telecommunications Towers for wireless service providers throughout Ontario. We are a turnkey operation that does everything from Site prep/planning, excavating, concrete forming, tower/steel erecting, to the installation of Antennas and DC/Fiber Optic wiring, Microwave Backhaul installation and alignments.

Who We Are Looking For

Our team is looking for BOTH experienced and junior Tower Technicians (Climbers / Riggers)

Performance Details and Requirements:

Under the Crew Chief's supervision, the Tower Technician is responsible for the installation of telecommunication equipment for cellular type networks as well as all related duties. Work is done on various types of towers and roof tops with an average height of 150ft to 200ft. The Technician will install antennas, antenna mounts, run all transmission lines, install connectors, grounding systems, lighting systems, and other associated equipment related to telecommunication towers or roof tops. If you've done this before, you know what we are looking for, If NOT no worries, we will teach you!

The company's equipment is under his responsibility, and he must ensure its proper use, condition and maintenance. He must sort material and ensure that all necessary equipment is on site. At all times, the rigger must have a good knowledge of the company's health and safety regulations and is required to apply them with vigilance.

What the Day to Day Looks Like:

You will be apart of a team... We work as a team and critically think as a team! We need team members who are comfortable to analyze project tasks, to discuss and accurately adopt an appropriate course of action for the day, all while communicating together in the field. Crew members work closely together to move our projects forward, while following instructions to complete the daily workload.

You will climb... You will need to have a strong desire AND ability to climb tall structures (100 feet and more). This not only involves working on communications towers but also may include other types of elevated structures for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; and performing tower maintenance.

You will learn... to understand and know the hazards associated with working at heights ie; tower climbing, using construction equipment, and working on or near towers and RF emitters. We train all successful candidates in our company safety requirements and follow Federal/Provincial safety guidelines. Performing duties in a safe manner is a company priority.

You will need to understand use and care of basic hand tools, power tools and learn to use more technical testing equipment.

You understand the work environment is performed primarily in outdoor settings with regular exposure to cold, heat, direct sunlight, dirt, and elevated heights.

Work Schedule: Hours vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays. Typical start times are 7-8am and can extend into the evening hours.

Local Travel: Required with some over nights all within Ontario and typically no more than 3 nights in a row.

This job is NOT for you if...

  • You prefer to watch from the ground as your team does the work above.
  • You need to be told on every rung of the ladder what to do.
  • You like to disregard safety protocols as if they are not necessary for you.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Must have 1 to 3 years of industry/construction work at heights (or related) experience
  • Current certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification is a plus, but not necessary. Just a willingness to be trained as such.
  • Working at heights and fall protection certification
  • Possession of a valid G driver license and clean driving record
  • Highly organized and able to effectively report verbal and written reports to the Crew/Foreman or Supervisor

We offer our Aligned - Tower Safety Training Program to all candidates prior to participating on a job site and send all approved individuals to a certified Tower Safety and Rescue course.
